The Pink Ranger Legacy!

Last Month, MorphinLegacy was covered in pink
to celebrate the Pink Rangers' Legacy.
As we did last month, let's step back and remember, The Pink Ranger.

Amy Jo Johnson
Kimberly was one of the original five Power Rangers chosen by Zordon when Rita Repulsa attacked Earth following her release from containment.Kimberly received the Pteradactyl Power Coin and the Pterodactyl Dinozord, thus becoming the Pink Mighty Morphin Power Ranger. She was a capable gymnast and would later show that she also has some musical and artistic talent. Her weapon was the Power Bow. She later passed on her power coin.

Kimberly's Legacy: She is the first Ranger to coin the phrase "Morphinominal"
She is the first and only gymnast Ranger.
Kimberly is the longest standing Pink Ranger with 137 Episodes

Catherine Sutherland
Katherine—nicknamed "Kat" when she was introduced—had several roles in the legacy of the Power Rangers. She replaced Kimberly as the Pink Mighty Morphin Power Ranger. As time went on, she would assume the identities of both the Pink Zeo Ranger and the Pink Turbo Ranger, before passing her torch to Cassie Chan.

Kat's Legacy: She is the first non-American Ranger.
Kat has served the most as Pink Ranger on 3 Teams: MMPR, ZEO & TURBO.
She is the first and only Ranger to have the same first name as her actress.

Patricia Ja Lee
Cassie is a music loving and somewhat sarcastic teenager. Cassie moved to the Angel Grove/Stone Canyon area to pursue her dream of breaking into the music business. Katherine, sensing a kindred spirit in Cassie chose her to take her place on the Power Rangers Turbo team as the second Pink Turbo Ranger. When the Power Chamber was destroyed by Divatox, she joined her friends against Astronema as the Pink Space Ranger.

Cassie's Legacy: She is the First in the long line of Asian Pink Rangers.
Did You Know?: Patricia Ja Lee was slated to replace Valerie Vernon (Kendrix Morgan) in the last half of Lost Galaxy; but conflicts with the actress caused them to chose Melody Perkins (Karone).

Valerie Vernon
Kendrix was introduced as a science officer aboard the space station Terra Venture. She was one of the six people to travel through the spatial rift to Mirinoi in the first episode, and she drew a Quasar Saber that allowed her to transform into the Pink Galaxy Ranger.
Highly intelligent and analytical by nature, Kendrix has an interest in all things scientific. She always has a logical explanation for everything, and that sometimes prevents her from seeing the wonder that's around her. Her blossoming friendship with free-spirited Leo teaches her to be more fun loving and spontaneous.

Kendrix's Legacy: She is the first Ranger to Die; sacrificing herself.
Kendrix is the first and only female Ranger to wear glasses.

Melody Perkins
Karone was born on the planet KO-35, and is the younger sister of Andros, the Red Space Ranger. Along with Andros, she had dreamed of being a Power Ranger. However, she was unable to realize her dream when she was kidnapped as a child by the evil bounty hunter, Darkonda. After Zordon's wave restored her from her dark side Astronema, Karone restored the stolen Pink Quasar Saber and became the Pink Galaxy Ranger when Kendrix died. Later, when Kendrix revived she relinquished power back to Kendrix.

Karone's Legacy: She is the first known villain to be blood-related to a Power Ranger.
She was the first, and for a long time only, main villain to become a Power Ranger, reformed or otherwise. Karone holds the record for being the shortest lived ranger, only lasting 14 episodes.

Alison MacInnis
Dana is serious, intellectual, and level-headed. She gathers the team together from all over Mariner Bay, and is a valuable asset to the team as one of the Rangers. Dana has a very brief stint as a model, but she resigns when it starts to interfere in her Ranger duties. She is later reconciled with her long-lost brother, Ryan, who joins them as the Titanium Ranger.

Dana's Legacy: Dana is the first Pink Ranger to break the tradition of having a name that begins with a "K-" sound.
Erin Cahill
In the distant future of the year 3000, Jen was an officer for the Time Force Police, which has nearly eradicated crime. The only remaining villain was a mutant named Ransik. Distraught by the apparent death of her lover, she  travelled to the year 2001, where she and the others were stranded in the fictional town of Silver Hills. Jen became the Pink Time Force Ranger and leader of the team.

Jen's Legacy: Jen was the second female Ranger to serve as a team leader. Jen was also the first Pink Ranger to not have an immediate successor.

Alycia Purrott
Sydney came from a rich family and although being spoiled shows, she was the heart of the team. She took pride in her looks and accomplishments as a model and a singer, but her appearance could fool anyone, as she could hold her own as the S.P.D. Pink Ranger. Syd started off shallow and was quick to think about herself and her appearance. Her unusual ability was "Fist of Iron" (she carried a pocket-size iron nugget in her uniform belt), but her true ability was altering her molecular structure, transforming it into whatever element she touches.

Syd's Legacy: Syd is the only Pink Ranger not to have a skirt as part of her Ranger suit.

Angie Diaz
It is very ironic for Vida being Pink Ranger, since she hates the color pink. Vida loves to DJ at Rock Porium, and is often filmed by her sister. Although she is more of a tomboy and usually means business, she is still kind and generous - she defended her sister when Madison was accused of being withdrawn, and she protected Chip from being picked on when they were at school. As the Pink Mystic Ranger, Vida wields the power of wind. She has shape shifting powers which allow her to conjure giant, butterfly-shaped "Mystical Wings". She usually rushes into battle, making her an effective fighter.

Vida's Legacy: Vida is the first Ranger who didn't like her color.

 Rhoda Montemayor
Rose Ortiz is the Pink Overdrive Ranger. She is a Mensa level genius with an encyclopedic knowledge regarding almost any subject, from geography to the Overdrive equipment. As she herself states in Things Not Said, she's "never wrong." Her genetic power is invisibility, her primary weapon is the Drive Geyser, and she drives the Sub and Shovel Driver Zords.

What new excitement can we expect from our next Pink Ranger?
